This is a hands-on technical role supporting the design, build, and ongoing operation of the business’s Azure and on-premises infrastructure and services. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager this is a senior engineering role within the IT Operations team. The role contributes technical expertise to ensure platforms are robust, secure, and fit for purpose.

• Awareness and ideally working knowledge of Microsoft’s well architected framework (WAF) and cloud adoption framework (CAF) specifically landing zone design/implementation. This includes use of Azure policy, building a robust RBAC structure in Azure (management groups, lifecycle management, permission auditability).

• Infrastructure as code (IaC) working commercial knowledge and experience: this could be using MS natives such as BICEP, ARM templates through to use of Terraform. The candidate needs to be able to come in and drive movement of Infrastructure in Azure into code.

• Shows real enthusiasm and stays constantly up to date with the latest Microsoft releases and developments. This position is involved in working with enterprise and Solution Architects in terms of design considerations as well as technical queries working closely with the DevOps team. A true Azure SME.
