Via is supporting our client in hiring an IT Operations Engineer II to join a rapidly growing remote-first organisation within the insurance technology sector.
This role is ideal for experienced IT professionals who thrive in dynamic, fast-scaling environments and are passionate about optimising IT infrastructure, automation, security, and operational efficiency.
As an IT Operations Engineer II, you will take ownership of critical IT systems, lead independent technical projects, improve operational processes, and help shape scalable, secure technology infrastructure while mentoring junior team members.

What You’ll Be Doing
IT Operations \& Systems Administration
- Administer core business applications including identity, collaboration, productivity, and project management platforms
- Maintain secure configurations, user access, and policy enforcement
- Optimise IT systems for scalability, security, and efficiency
- Troubleshoot advanced technical issues and support escalations
- Monitor system performance and proactively address risks
Automation \& Infrastructure
- Build integrations, workflows, and automation solutions
- Use Python, scripting, or no-code tools to automate repetitive tasks
- Manage infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code methodologies
- Develop tools and applications leveraging APIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency through automation
Project Leadership
- Lead IT projects from design through deployment
- Define technical scope, timelines, and success metrics
- Document systems, processes, and operational standards
- Recommend scalable architectural improvements
- Support observability and preventive monitoring initiatives
Team Collaboration \& Mentorship
- Mentor junior team members
- Share best practices
- Foster continuous learning and operational excellence

What You Bring
- 4–6 years of experience in IT Engineering, Systems Administration, DevOps, or similar roles
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent certifications
- Advanced experience with SaaS platforms and IT administration tools
- Strong scripting or programming ability (Python, Bash, JavaScript, or similar)
- Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code frameworks
- Familiarity with Git/version control systems
- Public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- API integration and automation experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
