Java Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior-level Java Software Engineer to join our Ground Operations platform.

Where do you land?

You will work in a team with team members located in Amsterdam and Budapest focusing on applications and services supporting baggage flow processes for optimal capacity management. In the team we are continuously improving our agile way of working and quality through code reviews, automated testing, and refactoring. With your knowledge of software engineering technologies and methodologies, you will be tasked to deliver new features, improve the existing solutions and enhance the team’s technical landscape.

What are you going to do?

Thanks to your software engineering skills and your problem-solving ability, you help improve the working lives of our employees every day. You will help us become a truly data and technology-driven organization. As a T-shaped software engineer, you will deliver software solutions for Ground Platform. You will be part of a product team inside Baggage Services, you will help in analysis, design \& architecture, development, quality assurance, DevOps, LCM activities and provide operational support as needed.

Your profile

• 7\+ years of experience building, maintaining, and deploying production-grade software
• Expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot
• You are familiar using REST APIs, SOAP services and async messaging
• Familiarity with dependency management, version control and containerization
• You value and follow good software engineering practices. You have good testing skills with code quality and clean code fondness
• Proactive attitude, focus on continuous improvement
• Good communication skills, written and spoken (English)
• You worked with Azure or have other cloud experience preferably
• DevOps mindset and CI/CD experience
• You have some knowledge about Kubernetes, Terraform

Nice to have

• Kafka experience
• 1\+ years of Angular, Typescript experience
