Role Description
The Journeyman Plumber role at HJD Capital Electric, Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in San Antonio, TX. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment in commercial, industrial, and government facilities. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, laying out and assembling pipe systems, and ensuring compliance with local codes and safety standards. The Journeyman Plumber will diagnose plumbing issues, perform troubleshooting, and collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to complete work on schedule. The position also requires accurate documentation of work performed, adherence to company safety policies, and participation in ongoing training as needed.
Qualifications
- Current Journeyman Plumber license in the State of Texas and thorough knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining piping, fixtures, valves, and related plumbing components in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications and to perform accurate measurements and layouts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving plumbing issues, leaks, blockages, and system performance problems.
- Commitment to safety practices, including proper use of tools and equipment, adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelines, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with supervisors, project teams, and clients in a professional manner.
- Physical ability to perform duties such as lifting, standing, bending, and working in various environmental conditions on job sites.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved apprenticeship program or equivalent practical experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working on public sector, infrastructure, or utility projects is a plus, along with familiarity with government contracting requirements.
