Salary: $30 - $32 per hour

A bit about us:

We are North America’s leader in unsaleable Beverage Destruction and Recycling. With regional recycling facilities across the US, we offer national services to the Alcohol and Non-alcohol Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Health \& Beauty, and Industrial Alcohol industries.

Each year, we destroy and recycle over 35 million cases of distressed and unsaleable beverage products. Through these activities, we recycle and repurpose over 450 million pounds of packaging materials including glass, aluminum, and plastics.

Currently we are hiring for a Lab Specialist. This is a first shift M-F position. Hours are 7:30a-4:00pm (start time can be adjusted) with occasional overtime on the weekends.

Job Details

• Experience in an industrial manufacturing facility
• Conducts quality testing on outbound alcohol loads and inbound bulk streams.
• Conducts quality testing on potential new streams to ensure processability as needed.
• Oversees quality of alcohol and alcohol blended products according to customer-prescribed standards. Quality issues include moisture content, color, consistency, proof, percentages of denaturants, etc.
• Calibrates, maintains, documents, and performs repairs on lab equipment. Recommend equipment and laboratory improvements.
• Works with management to establish and maintain all professional procedures and compliance documents for ASTMD-5501, ISO, D4806, and national standards as directed by QAQC Tech.
• Maintains standard operating procedures for the laboratory and affected areas.
• Maintains good housekeeping in the laboratory.
• Prepares samples for monthly and quarterly third-party lab analysis and HazMat samples per DOT hazardous materials regulations.
• Maintains inventory of chemicals and other supplies required for lab testing procedures.
• Make stock solutions to use as equipment calibration standards.
• Performs bench-scale distillation and other experiments to mimic process scale operations as needed.
• Follow all quality standard operating and testing procedures which relate to the manufacture of alcohol products.
• Safely organize and maintain customer samples.
