About the Role

The Laboratory Technician performs laboratory testing, equipment operation, and quality assurance activities to support research, development, and production objectives. This role is responsible for executing test methods, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data, and maintaining compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO requirements.

Working with varying levels of supervision based on experience and demonstrated competency, the Laboratory Technician contributes to safety initiatives, process improvements, and technical projects while supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations.

All the criteria-based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to the established policies, procedures and guidelines within the department/site and the Savant Group. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute laboratory tests following established methods, SOPs, and quality standards with precision and consistency.
  • Accurately record, analyze, and report test data using electronic systems, laboratory notebooks, or standardized forms.
  • Maintain and monitor control charts, instrument logs, and reference materials to ensure data integrity and traceability.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation according to manufacturer guidelines and internal procedures.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, deviations, or anomalies in test methods and results, escalating as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 standards, internal QMS procedures, and safety protocols.

  • None

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience in a technical or research environment, with familiarity in common testing methods and laboratory instrumentation is a plus.
  • ISO 9001 or similar experience highly preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of laboratory testing principles and techniques.
  • Proficient with laboratory instrumentation, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Skilled in data analysis, interpretation, and quality control methods.
  • Knowledgeable in ISO/QMS standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all laboratory work.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in laboratory documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload independently.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams.
