Machine Learning Engineer

A fast-growing SaaS business purpose-built for the construction industry, think computer vision meets construction with some of the largest construction firms across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US as clients are looking to hire.

They've been deliberate and thoughtful in how they've built with speed, quality and awareness in everything they ship. The product is working. The customers are real. And they're scaling globally.

You'll be their second dedicated ML/AI hire and working closely with the product and engineering team, you'll design, develop and integrate ML models that solve real construction problems, track activity and progress

You'll run experiments with LLMs and multimodal AI, and make the call on when to invest in custom development versus leveraging off-the-shelf models.

You'll own the full ML lifecycle, sourcing and curating training data, building labeling and training pipelines, deploying high-throughput inference infrastructure, and iterating based on real-world performance. From initial concept through to deployment and beyond.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to follow a playbook. It's for someone who wants to write one.

Approach problems from first principles, not frameworks for the sake of it.

You care about the

behind every decision, you're not afraid to kill your ideas when a better answer shows up, and you understand that the first release is just the beginning.

You've shipped production ML systems.

You know computer vision inside out — from the data side and the model side.

You're comfortable operating in the grey areas where the right answer isn't obvious yet, and you don't need a perfect brief to do great work.

Technically, you'll bring:

• Production-level ML development experience — not just notebooks
• Computer vision model development, data to deployment
• End-to-end MLOps: acquisition, labeling, training, pipelines, versioning, monitoring
• Experience with LLMs, LVMs and multimodal models
• High-throughput ML inference infrastructure
• Bonus: PyTorch, TensorRT, edge ML, .NET/C#/Python
