Position Overview

Our client is seeking a

Manager of Mechanical Engineering

to lead and grow a team of engineers and designers while overseeing the delivery of high-quality mechanical engineering solutions. This leadership role combines technical expertise, team development, project management, and client engagement across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop mechanical engineers and designers.
  • Provide technical oversight for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and central plant system designs.
  • Ensure quality control of mechanical designs, calculations, and specifications.
  • Manage team workloads, staffing, and project resource planning.
  • Serve as Project Manager on select projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, structural, electrical, civil, and technology.
  • Support business development efforts, proposals, and client relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement of design standards, processes, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Extensive experience in consulting engineering and building systems design.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping systems, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Experience with healthcare projects and central plant systems (chiller and boiler plants preferred).
  • Project management experience on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit and mechanical design software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
