Responsibilities

The Managing Director, Global Employee Communications is responsible for ensuring employees across the organization understand and align with the firm’s strategy, priorities, and evolution as a leading global real assets investment manager.

This role serves as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and partners closely with the other Communications teams to translate the firm’s enterprise narrative into clear, consistent, and meaningful communication for employees globally.

Operating at the intersection of strategy, leadership, execution, and culture, this role leads a global function responsible not only for defining the employee communication strategy, but also for delivering high-quality, day-to-day communications that inform, engage, and align employees at scale.

The Managing Director will ensure the organization is equipped—through both strategy and execution—to communicate effectively in a dynamic, evolving environment.

  • Develop and lead a global employee communications strategy that ensures employees clearly understand:
  • the firm’s strategic direction and priorities
  • its evolution as a global real assets platform
  • how business lines and initiatives connect
  • how their work contributes to the firm’s success
  • Establish global standards and governance for employee communications, ensuring consistency across regions and functions while allowing for local relevance.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to ensure leaders communicate clearly, consistently, and effectively with their teams.

  • Develop scalable frameworks, messaging tools, and communication guidance that enable leaders at all levels to reinforce the firm’s strategy and priorities.
  • Oversee enterprise leadership forums including to ensure strong connections between leadership and employees.
  • Ensure these forums are strategically aligned, well-executed, and drive meaningful engagement.
  • Design and lead communication strategies that support major strategic initiatives and continuous organizational transformation.
  • Develop repeatable frameworks that help employees understand:
  • why any shifts are happening
  • what it means for them
  • how to navigate it successfully
  • Equip leaders with tools and messaging to guide their teams through periods of growth.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to reinforce the firm’s culture, values, and employee experience through communication.
  • Translate the firm’s brand and values into a meaningful internal experience that fosters: engagement, connection, sense of belonging, and pride in the organization.
  • Highlight employee achievements, collaboration, and impact across the global platform.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of employee communications across all channels.
  • Ensure communications are:
  • clear, relevant, and prioritized
  • aligned to strategic objectives
  • tailored to a global, diverse workforce
  • Simplify and optimize communication channels to reduce noise and improve clarity across the organization.
  • Maintain a strong operational cadence of communications across the enterprise.
  • Partner with technology and communications teams to evolve the firm’s internal communication ecosystem, including intranet and digital platforms.
  • Define the roadmap for enhancing how employees’ access and engage with information, leveraging emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools where appropriate.
  • Ensure employees can easily find and understand the information that matters most.
  • Establish and evolve employee listening capabilities to understand sentiment, engagement, and clarity of communication.
  • Leverage data and feedback to provide leadership with insights on: employee understanding of strategy, effectiveness of communication, and areas of confusion or misalignment.
  • Continuously refine communication strategies based on these insights.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global employee communications team responsible for both strategy and execution.
  • Oversee planning, production, and delivery of communications, ensuring operational excellence and consistency.
  • Establish clear workflows, editorial calendars, and governance to support scalable, high-quality output.
  • Ensure the team balances strategic advisory work with flawless execution of day-to-day communications.
  • Partner closely with: Other Communications Teams, Global Marketing, HR, and Regional leadership to ensure alignment between internal and external messaging and consistency across the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 15\+ years of experience in employee or internal communications within a global, matrixed organization, including significant experience advising senior leadership
  • Experience operating in complex global organizations
  • Investment management \& real assets experience
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling
