Position Summary
Seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Manufacturing Chemist with experience in oligonucleotide and analytical instrument to join our Primer Manufacturing group. The candidate should have a good understanding of purification techniques used in the manufacture of complex nucleotides, such as Ion Exchange and Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography is preferred but not required. The candidate should have at least one year of chemistry bench experience in synthetic processes.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to follow established protocols in the production of complex organic molecules and modified oligonucleotides
- Follow established processes and protocols to assist for the synthesis and purification of complicated organic molecules and modified oligonucleotides
- Inventory Control of reagents, chemicals and supplies using proper labeling and computerized transactions
- Maintain general lab organization and availability of lab supplies
- Labeling of tubes and bottles and dispensing of reagents
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area at all times (6S)
- Routine testing, Operation Maintenance, and calibration of various lab equipment
- Actively contribute to team discussion, project planning and project execution
- Review batch records for accuracy and completeness
- Resolve routine issues and escalate non-standard or critical issues
- Operate in compliance with all appropriate regulatory and safety requirements
- Work with cross-functional teams in R\&D, HSE, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering
- Basic understanding of equipment/instrument upkeep, calibration, and maintenance policies.
Requirements
- 0-2 years manufacturing laboratory experience
- Demonstrated ability to follow established protocols to assist the production of complex organic molecules and modified oligonucleotides
- Demonstrated basic chemistry, math and analytical skills
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; including demonstrated experience in GMP.
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft office and Outlook
- Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
- Experience working in a regulated GMP manufacturing environment under ISO 13485/or 21 CFR 820
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry highly preferred
The estimated base hourly range for the Manufacturing Chemist 1 role based in the United States of America is: $27\.50 - $41\.25\. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role. Most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
