entrepreneur and their ideas. PDFF is committed to expanding the legacy of Delaware’s 68th Governor, Pete du Pont, by championing innovative ideas and helping entrepreneurs and small business owners accelerate their ventures. Led by an engaged Board of Directors, PDFF collaborates with business leaders, community partners, and service providers to invest in business development, create jobs, and promote enterprise for all.
Opportunity
PDFF is seeking a
Marketing \& Communications Manager
to elevate the visibility, voice, and storytelling capacity of the organization. This individual will lead all marketing, content creation, digital strategy, and communications initiatives that support PDFF’s programs, events, donor engagement, fundraising efforts, and community outreach.
Working closely with the Executive Director and team, the Marketing \& Communications Manager will design and implement multi-channel marketing strategies, manage PDFF’s digital presence, develop compelling impact storytelling, and ensure strong brand alignment across all platforms. This individual will help shape PDFF’s public identity, promote key program initiatives (including E3 and Reinventing Delaware), and create engaging content that connects donors, corporate partners, entrepreneurs, and the broader business community to PDFF’s mission.
The ideal candidate is creative, strategic, detail-oriented, and passionate about using marketing to drive engagement, inspire giving, and fuel community impact.
Core Duties:
Brand, Marketing \& Digital Strategy (40%)
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual marketing and communications plan aligned with organizational goals.
- Build PDFF’s brand strategy, voice, and visual identity across all platforms.
- Lead digital marketing efforts, including social media, email marketing, website content, SEO, and digital campaigns.
- Oversee the creation of all marketing collateral, including brochures, one-pagers, pitch decks, impact reports, event assets, and program materials.
- Plan, design, and implement targeted outreach campaigns to grow program participation and donor engagement.
- Maintain PDFF’s website and digital platforms, ensuring content is fresh, accurate, and mission-aligned.
- Create and manage a content calendar reflecting PDFF’s programs, events, donor touchpoints, and storytelling priorities.
Content Creation, Storytelling \& Communications (35%)
- Capture and communicate PDFF’s impact through stories, videos, interviews, social media, newsletters, and digital content.
- Develop storytelling campaigns that highlight entrepreneurs, program successes, donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Lead creation of the organization’s annual report, impact briefs, and donor/sponsor-facing communications.
- Write and design high-quality content for email campaigns, press releases, blog posts, program announcements, and social channels.
- Support media relations, including pitching stories, managing press contacts, and coordinating interviews or public appearances.
- Produce professional visual content including graphics, branded templates, flyers, ads, and short-form video clips (or coordinate with outside vendors).
- Ensure brand consistency across all materials and communications.
Event Marketing \& Audience Growth (15%)
- Develop comprehensive marketing plans for E3, CEO Series events, Pete du Pont Freedom Award, and Reinventing Delaware Dinner.
- Create ticket sales strategies, sponsorship visibility plans, and audience segmentation campaigns.
- Design event-related assets: programs, invitations, signage, digital ads, and post-event storytelling content.
- Support onsite media capture, event-day communications, and post-event storytelling to help convert attendees into long-term supporters.
Administrative \& Strategic Support (10%)
- Generate analytics, dashboards, and performance reports on marketing efforts to inform leadership decisions.
- Maintain systems for content planning, campaign tracking, and workflow management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with program, development, and executive leadership teams to ensure alignment between messaging, growth, and revenue strategy.
- Coordinate with outside contractors, photographers, videographers, designers, or PR partners as needed.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure all messaging reflects PDFF’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 4 to 6 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or related fields.
- Proven ability to manage digital marketing strategy and conversion-focused campaigns.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify and elevate complex ideas.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
- Comfort working with CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and email platforms.
- Ability to capture and produce short-form video content preferred.
- Strong project management, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable building systems within a growing, entrepreneurial organization.

Schedule
This is a full-time position based in Wilmington, DE, with a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Remote work for up to two days per week may be available. Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required. Candidates seeking less than full-time work at a prorated salary may be considered.
