Mechanical Design Engineer

We are a heavy machinery scale-up from Stockholm looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our company.

There is a global shift towards sustainability which has expanded also into heavy machinery and automotive space. This has created a need for electric and battery powered technologies. We specialize within this niche and aspire to become market leaders in engineering products for battery-powered heavy machinery.

We are working with global industrial players and are supported by top tier investors both on the Venture capital and on the industrial sides.

About the role:

We are looking for a generalist Mechanical Design Engineer with a broad interest in machinery and mechanical design to:

Responsibilities

• Investigate new solutions to improve performance, reliability or manufacturability
• Perform 3D design and produce 2D drawings in SolidWorks
• Mechanical design of machine elements, like housing design/shafts/bearings/fasteners etc.
• Perform strength and fatigue analysis using FEM tools
• Produce technical documentation, report engineering calculations and analysis work for 3rd party verification
• Perform failure mode, effects and criticality analysis for modules and system
• Manage your modules to meet performance, schedule and budget targets
• Lead procurement activities including component and supplier selection, manufacturing and factory acceptance testing of modules
• Support assembly and testing of modules

Skills and qualifications

You have at least 5 years of relevant experience from developing mechanical systems and industrial equipment. Having worked with gearbox design or similar products or industries is a plus. You have a broad and deep technical knowledge and genuine interest in the different aspects of machinery and mechanical design. Knowledge of hydraulics or electricity generation equipment is qualifying. Experience with FEM simulations is also an advantage.

You may have a B.Sc or a M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering or related disciplines in combination with experience and interest in the field. You are proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
