Job Description
IMPAXX is hiring a Medical Coding Specialist to support our growing Medicare compliance and settlement services team.
As part of IMPAXX, you’ll work at the intersection of medical coding, claims analysis, and future medical cost projections—supporting complex workers’ compensation and liability cases. IMPAXX is a leading Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance organization, helping clients develop accurate, defensible medical allocations tied to future care needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review and complete medical coding and pricing for allocation worksheets and calculation models prepared by analysts
- Analyze and interpret allocation worksheets to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and appropriate fee schedules based on established coding guidelines
- Price DME, facility services, surgical procedures, and prescription medications across multiple jurisdictions
- Enter finalized procedure codes, NDC codes, and pricing into the case management system
- Support the preparation and review of allocation worksheets for quality and accuracy
- Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality standards when handling sensitive medical and claim information
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2\+ years of experience working with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and NDC codes
- Experience in workers’ compensation or liability environments, including exposure to multiple jurisdictions
- Working knowledge of Medicare systems, remittance processes, and reimbursement methodologies
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
Preferred Experience:
- Experience coding and billing orthopedic and pain management procedures and surgeries
Certifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and/or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) preferred
