Medical Director

Position Overview

Charleston Medical Spa is seeking a South Carolina-licensed Physician (MD or DO) to serve as our Medical Director. This role provides clinical oversight across our rapidly growing aesthetic and wellness services, ensuring compliance, safety, and high-quality patient care.

This position may be on-site or remote, in accordance with South Carolina supervision laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for all clinical services, including aesthetics and wellness treatments

• Maintain treatment protocols and scope-of-practice guidelines

• Oversee wellness programs (GLP-1 weight loss, peptides, hormone optimization)

• Conduct chart reviews, quality assurance, and compliance audits

• Ensure proper delegation to RNs, NPs, and PAs per South Carolina law

• Maintain prescriptive authority oversight and medication protocols

• Be available for consultation and clinical support as needed

• Collaborate with leadership on growth and new service offerings

South Carolina Compliance Requirements

• Active, unrestricted South Carolina medical license required

• Ongoing supervision of delegated medical services

• Responsible for clinical decisions, protocols, and patient safety

• Establish written scope-of-practice agreements

• Continuous supervision (not requiring constant physical presence)

• Maintain independent medical judgment

Ideal Candidate

• MD or DO with active South Carolina license

• Interest or experience in:

• Medical aesthetics (injectables, lasers, skin treatments)

• Weight loss (GLP-1s), peptides, hormone therapy

• Functional or preventative medicine

• Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset

• Medical Director experience preferred but not required

Role Structure \& Flexibility:

This role is designed with flexibility in mind. The Medical Director may work fully remotely in a strategic leadership capacity or choose to take on part-time or full-time in-office clinical responsibilities, based on experience and preference. Regardless of the structure, the Director will serve as the on-call lead provider, ensuring consistent clinical oversight and support for the team.
