Shift:

Evening shift 2-10:30pm M-F/Tues-Sat (Saturday hours vary)

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Laboratory Scientist role based in Nashville, TN. The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform routine and complex clinical laboratory testing across core laboratory disciplines, including specimen processing, analysis, and result verification. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, following established protocols, and adhering to all CLIA, CAP, and internal quality standards. The role involves reviewing quality control data, troubleshooting test anomalies, and communicating critical or unusual results to healthcare providers in a timely manner. The Medical Laboratory Scientist will also assist with procedure updates, participate in proficiency testing, support inventory management, and contribute to a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Medical Technology, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical clinical testing.
  • Proficient Laboratory Skills, including specimen handling, test performance, instrument operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology to interpret test results and understand their clinical significance.
  • Experience with Quality Control practices, including documentation, proficiency testing, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field; ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with CLIA and CAP requirements, standard operating procedures, and laboratory safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
