GHD has an opportunity for a
Mid-Level to
Senior Geologist/Hydrogeologist
to join our growing Contaminated Assessment and Remediation (CAR) Group based in any of our St. Paul office. If you are a self-motivated professional with excellent technical skills, federal/state/local environmental regulatory knowledge, and existing relationships with clients, prospects, and regulators then this is a great opportunity to explore!

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you:
Conduct research or perform evaluations of a geological or hydrogeological nature. Create technical reports to inform proposals, budgets, support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance for civil infrastructure projects or projects to address environmental challenges. Using knowledge of various scientific disciplines, may collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of soil, water, and other sources.
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to travel to project sites for short durations (including overnight travel) throughout the region.
- Professional Designation/License preferred
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
Responsibilities
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Monitor and review performance against HSE KPIs and patterns of behavior; take action to improve performance and resolve noncompliance.
- Promote a behavior-based safety culture and participate in continuous improvement, including occasional after-hours emergency response.
- A commitment to safe work practices is expected from all team members.
Project Management
- Manage a portfolio of environmental investigation and remediation projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
- Provide technical project management and direction, ensuring projects are delivered safely, within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead proposal development and contract negotiation to win targeted pursuits that leverage GHD’s capabilities and value proposition.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and delivering high-quality results is required.
Client \& Customer Management (External)
- Maintain high external profile through client engagement and continual networking.
- Support key client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication of technical information.
- Assist senior colleagues in managing important client relationships and oversee relationships with transactional clients.
Organizational \& Personal Capability Building
- Act as a subject matter expert in environmental investigations and remediation, mentoring high-functioning teams.
- Maintain external accreditations and stay current on U.S. EPA and state environmental regulations (with emphasis on Minnesota), as well as industry best practices.
- Provide informal training or coaching to colleagues to build organizational capability.
- Participate in communities of practice to share expertise and develop innovative approaches.
Community of Practice Management
- Engage in active participation to develop personal expertise and promote knowledge-sharing within the team.
Analysis of "As Is" and "To Be" / Solutions Analysis
- Apply complex problem-solving skills to environmental investigations and remediation strategies.
- Identify and evaluate technical and regulatory solutions to meet client compliance needs.
- Conduct hydrogeologic assessment and site characterization for soil, soil vapor, indoor air, and groundwater.
Environmental Risk Management \& Environmental Impact Assessment
- Oversee environmental risk management processes to minimize detrimental impacts.
- Coordinate elements of environmental impact assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response
- Gather information and resources, draft proposals, and fulfill all requirements to maximize success in bid solicitations, RFPs, and tenders.
Education
- Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in applied science (Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology)
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation (drilling techniques, contaminate fate and transport, site characterization, protocols, remediation techniques)
- Managing project teams, project management, mentoring staff

Salary: $63,500\.00 - $132,000\.00, varies based on location and experience

- 401K - Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service
- Paid time off – Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
- Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
- Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250\.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run \& marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices
