Middle School Animal Science Teacher

Role Overview

Academian is seeking an Animal Science Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development and review of a Middle School Animal Science Career and Technical Education (CTE) course. The SME will ensure content accuracy, industry relevance, instructional quality, and alignment with agricultural education standards and career pathway expectations.

The SME will collaborate with Instructional Designers, project teams, and stakeholders to review instructional materials, validate animal science concepts, and provide recommendations that support engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences for middle school learners.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent Review \& Validation

• Review and validate course content, storyboards, activities, and instructional materials.
• Ensure content accuracy, industry relevance, and age appropriateness.
• Identify content gaps, inaccuracies, or opportunities for improvement.

Content Input

• Provide industry-aligned resources, examples, and recommendations.
• Support instructional teams with real-world applications and career pathway insights.

Assessment Review

• Review assessments for accuracy, rigor, and alignment with learning objectives.
• Recommend improvements to strengthen learner understanding and engagement.

Collaboration \& Quality Assurance

• Participate in review cycles, meetings, and project discussions.
• Collaborate with Instructional Designers and project stakeholders.
• Provide timely feedback and subject matter guidance throughout development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant industry certification in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in animal science, agriculture, veterinary services, animal care, or a related industry.
• Strong communication, analytical, and content review skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching or training in Animal Science or Agricultural Education.
• Experience supporting CTE, workforce readiness, or secondary education programs.
• Experience reviewing curriculum, assessments, or digital learning content.

Engagement Expectations

• Project duration: Approximately 6 months.
• Expected commitment: Approximately 2–3 hours per day during active review phases.
• Participate in project meetings and review cycles as required.
• Provide timely feedback on assigned deliverables.
• Support the successful development of high-quality, industry-aligned learning experiences.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35\.00 - $40\.00 per hour
