Job Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the organization’s technology infrastructure. This role ensures the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and software applications while providing technical support to end users. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Roles And Responsibilities
Support the growth of the institution by performing computer installs, network equipment installs, cable runs, cable terminations, and any other IT-related tasks.Assist with building and maintaining servers/storage units.Help install and maintain network devices. i.e., switches, routers, wifi access points, and line-of-sight devices.Performing routine checks of the IT department equipment to ensure functionality.Data security. i.e., firewall, antivirus, encrypting drives.Advanced troubleshooting of problems as they arise.Maintenance of all technology hardware and peripherals on campus.Management and organization of all technology inventory, including the requesting of new hardware items and peripherals.Development of strategies for on-campus technological improvements.All other duties as assigned.
Experience
1–3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems administration Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, VPN) Experience with Active Directory and ticketing systemsFamiliarity with hardware setup, imaging, and deployment
Skills and Qualifications
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectivelyBasic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Knowledge of operating systems, software installation, and system updatesAbility to document processes clearly and accurately
License/Certification
PREFERRED
: Advanced Networking Certifications.
