Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced

Microsoft Network Engineer

to design, implement, secure, and maintain a complex Microsoft enterprise network infrastructure in a high-security environment. This role is ideal for a senior-level IT professional with deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, enterprise networking, and security frameworks.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and enhancing our network, server, and Microsoft 365 environments, including active participation in a

Microsoft GCC High

implementation. This position works closely with the network team to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security across the organization.

Strong experience with

Microsoft Intune

and building secure onboarding processes for users and equipment is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design \& Implementation

  • Design, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructures.
  • Develop and maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Configure and manage FortiGate firewalls and switches, Cisco switches, wireless access points, and related security components.
  • Implement scalable, secure, and high-performance network architectures aligned with business needs.

Security \& Compliance

  • Design and enforce network security controls including firewall rules, segmentation, access controls, and switch configurations.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments and implement remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the CMMC compliance team, specializing in assigned control areas.
  • Support infrastructure alignment with

NIST

and

CMMC

frameworks (strongly preferred).

GCC High \& Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Support implementation and ongoing administration of Microsoft GCC High environments.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services including Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Configure compliance policies, risk management tools, and vulnerability management solutions.
  • Ensure secure integration between cloud and on-premises systems.

Intune \& Secure Onboarding

  • Administer Microsoft Intune for endpoint configuration, compliance enforcement, and device lifecycle management.
  • Design and continuously improve secure onboarding processes for users and equipment.
  • Ensure secure and efficient access to systems and tools across the organization.

Troubleshooting \& Support

  • Diagnose and resolve complex network and user issues through structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct lessons-learned reviews and implement preventative improvements.
  • Provide advanced technical support for enterprise networking and Microsoft infrastructure issues.

Team Leadership \& Collaboration

  • Act as a technical subject matter expert in assigned areas.
  • Mentor team members as appropriate and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing IT team.
  • Proactively learn and adopt new technologies and responsibilities as directed.

Performance Monitoring \& Optimization

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security.
  • Perform regular testing to identify bottlenecks or risks.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure maximum resilience and uptime.

Project Management

  • Lead infrastructure, network, and security projects as assigned by the IT Director.
  • Manage timelines, documentation, implementation, and post-project reviews.
  • Execute projects with accountability, energy, and attention to detail.

Required Skills \& Qualifications

Technical Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls and Cisco switching infrastructure.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Defender, compliance and security tools.
  • Experience working in

GCC High environments

strongly preferred.

  • 3–5 years in a senior network engineering role with

7\+ years of overall IT experience

Certifications (Highly Valued)

  • Microsoft certifications (modern equivalents of MCSE preferred).
  • CCNA or CCNP.
  • CompTIA Network\+, A\+, or equivalent certifications.
