Hands of Hope Physical Therapy is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused
Occupational Therapist (OT)
to join our growing rehabilitation team in Flatbush, Brooklyn. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative outpatient setting where you'll help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized, evidence-based care.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions that promote functional recovery and support patients in achieving their personal goals. You will work closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations based on physician referrals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with each patient's functional goals and clinical needs.
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve strength, coordination, fine motor skills, cognitive function, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies to maximize independence.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations, organizational policies, and professional standards of occupational therapy practice.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the State of New York.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an outpatient rehabilitation or therapy clinic.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical patients.
