OCI Database Engineer

Job Description

Must-Have**

(Ideally should not be more than 3-5)

Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure management in OCI and AWS environments.

Hands-on Experience With

OCI/AWS Compute/EC2

Load Balancers (LB/NLB)

VCN/VPC networking

Object Storage/Buckets

IAM/Policies

DBaaS/RDS

Experience in setup and administration of Linux servers in cloud environments.

Expertise In Cloud Networking Concepts Including

Subnets

Security Groups (SG/NSG)

ACL/NACL

Inter-zone connectivity

IP/Subnet blocking

Experience In Managing

Object storage buckets

VM image imports from VMDK files

Custom images, snapshots, and volumes

Shape upgrades/downgrades

Strong understanding of virtualization, containerization, and orchestration technologies.

Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python or Java.

Strong Oracle Database Administration experience (10g and above) on Unix and Windows platforms.

Experience With

Oracle RAC (11g/12c)

Oracle Dataguard

OEM/Grid Control

RMAN backup and recovery

Oracle Cloud Control

Expertise In

SQL tuning

Database performance optimization

Oracle server performance tuning

• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and transaction recovery solutions.
• Experience in database architecture, database object creation, and database lifecycle management.
• Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration (10g and above) on Unix and Windows platforms
• Hands-on expertise in Oracle RAC (11g/12c), Data Guard, RMAN backup and recovery
• Experience with OCI/AWS cloud services (Compute/EC2, VCN/VPC, DBaaS/RDS, Object Storage)
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, SQL optimization, and troubleshooting
• Experience working with OEM/Grid Control and generating performance reports
• Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies
• Experience managing Linux servers and cloud infrastructure setup
• Good-to-Have(Ideally should not be more than 3-Experience with automation using scripting (Python/Shell)
• Knowledge of containerization or cloud orchestration tools
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive approach toward automation and continuous improvement.
• Attention to detail with focus on system reliability, security, and compliance
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities

Salary Range-$100,000-$120,000 a year
