Job Description
Position Summary:
The Settlement Paralegal manages the settlement process from resolution through disbursement, working closely with attorneys, clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, and lienholders to ensure timely and accurate case closure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare settlement documents, releases, and settlement statements.
- Communicate with clients regarding settlement status and required documentation.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, medical providers, and lienholders to obtain and resolve outstanding balances and liens.
- Review settlement funds and assist with the distribution of proceeds.
- Maintain accurate case records and update case management systems.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and applicable legal requirements.
- Support attorneys with settlement-related tasks and case resolution activities.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or settlement specialist preferred.
- 5\+ years in settlement
- Knowledge of personal injury, labor and employment, or civil litigation settlement processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Hourly Pay: $40 - $60 per hour depending on experience
