At Metrie, we believe our people are the foundation of our success. We’re looking for a People \& Culture (P\&C) Generalist to support our Calgary manufacturing facility and help create an engaged, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace.

This role works across core HR functions including employee engagement, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning \& development, compliance, and HR reporting. You’ll partner closely with plant leadership, supervisors, and employees to deliver exceptional employee experiences while supporting operational goals.

What You’ll Do

Culture \& Engagement

  • Support employee engagement initiatives such as surveys, feedback sessions, onboarding programs, and retention activities
  • Plan and facilitate team‑building, volunteering, and site engagement activities

Employee Support \& Relations

  • Act as a first point of contact for salaried and hourly employees on HR‑related questions
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and escalate complex matters as needed
  • Provide guidance on Canadian benefits and medical leave processes in collaboration with the Benefits team

Training \& Development

  • Manage LinkedIn Learning licenses and support continuous learning initiatives
  • Coordinate and track mandatory workplace training
  • Track quarterly and annual performance review documentation

HR Reporting \& Analytics

  • Generate HR reports and dashboards
  • Analyze engagement survey results and exit interviews to support retention and development strategies

Compensation \& Talent Planning

  • Support succession planning and Talent Talks
  • Assist with annual compensation processes, including merit increases and market survey analysis

Project \& Process Improvement

  • Support and lead HR projects focused on improving processes, programs, and tools
  • Identify opportunities to enhance HR practices within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field or 3\+ years of experience as an HR Generalist
  • Working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, with strong Alberta‑specific expertise
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment with a large, hourly, non‑union workforce
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with sound judgment and confidentiality
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience with ADP and SharePoint is an asset
  • Comfort working with HR systems, reports, and data
