Job Description
About the Role
This is not a traditional pharmacy role. The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist sits at the intersection of pharmacy operations, clinical research, and community health. It is a unique, tech-forward position.
You will be the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for onboarding, activating, and supporting the ongoing success of independent pharmacies participating in SiteLabs' clinical trial recruitment and wellness screening programs. You will work both in person and virtually — traveling to pharmacy locations to stand up programs and train staff, then supporting pharmacies remotely through virtual check-ins, performance monitoring, and data-driven coaching.
A strong understanding of pharmacy management systems (PMS) and pharmacy dispensing data is essential. You will use that data to help pharmacies identify eligible patients, optimize workflows, and drive consistent recruitment performance across active clinical trials.
Core ResponsibilitiesProgram Onboarding
- Travel to independent pharmacy locations across South Carolina and nationally to lead in-person onboarding, training, and go-live activation for clinical trial and wellness screening programs.
- Train pharmacy teams on study protocols, patient identification workflows, PMS data utilization, documentation, and referral processes.
- Ensure pharmacies are fully operational, compliant, and confident at program launch.
- Be prepared to travel on short notice — as little as one week.
Program Execution \& Pharmacy Success
- Own the ongoing performance of assigned pharmacy sites post-launch.
- Support pharmacies through a blend of in-person visits and virtual check-ins, monitoring recruitment activity, screening quality, and operational adherence.
- Troubleshoot workflow gaps, retrain staff as needed, and ensure pharmacies are consistently executing programs correctly and efficiently.
- Serve as a long-term partner to pharmacy staff — not just a trainer who shows up once.
Technology \& Data
- Leverage pharmacy management system data to help pharmacies identify eligible patients and optimize outreach.
- Use SiteLabs' internal tracking and reporting tools to monitor site performance, flag issues early, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Comfort with learning and working within new technology platforms is essential — this is a tech-forward role.
Performance Management \& Optimization
- Track and improve patient recruitment and screening metrics across assigned pharmacy sites.
- Identify barriers to enrollment and implement practical solutions to improve outcomes.
- Partner with pharmacies to drive consistent patient flow into clinical trials and wellness programs.
- Provide structured feedback to internal SiteLabs teams on program performance and operational improvements.
Ongoing Engagement \& Field Support
- Conduct routine on-site visits to reinforce training, optimize performance, and maintain strong pharmacy relationships.
- Deliver refresher training on protocols, compliance, and best practices.
- Act as each pharmacy's internal advocate within SiteLabs — building trust and driving long-term program success.
RequirementsRequired
- Licensed Pharmacist or Certified Pharmacy Technician.
- Strong working knowledge of pharmacy management systems and pharmacy dispensing data.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across South Carolina and nationally, including on short notice.
- Comfortable working in both in-person and virtual environments.
- Experience with clinical workflows including point-of-care and lab-based biometric screenings.
- Strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills.
- Enjoys leveraging technology and AI tools to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple pharmacy sites, clinical trials, and programs simultaneously.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, early-stage environment where priorities shift and speed matters.
Compensation \& Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 to $70,000, based on experience
- 401(k) with company match
- 4 weeks paid time off plus 10 paid holidays
- Equity participation
- Flexible work environment with the autonomy to make a national impact
