Power Engineer

to join our Engineering team.

JOB PURPOSE

The Power Engineer oversees and supervises power systems, electrical infrastructure, and utilities automation across the Dairy and Juice mega plant and associated warehouses. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical assets, including transformers, switchgear, distribution panels, utility control panels, and SCADA/automation systems, while leading and developing the electrical team.

The role holder will drive energy‑saving initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and adherence to regulatory and safety standards to maximize uptime, optimize performance, and support production objectives.

Accountabilities \& Responsibilities

Electrical Power Systems \& Infrastructure

  • Lead the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including power transformers, MV/LV switchgear, distribution boards, motor control centers (MCCs), and utility panels.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable electrical standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance work.
  • Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and specifications; coordinate and manage electrical shutdowns and planned outages.

Utilities Automation \& SCADA

  • Oversee utilities automation systems and SCADA platforms to monitor power distribution, load management, and utility performance.
  • Lead fault analysis and troubleshooting in response to automation alerts and system anomalies.
  • Support SCADA data reporting, trending, and system interfaces.

Energy Management \& Improvement Projects

  • Identify and implement energy‑saving opportunities (e.g., power factor correction, load optimization, and automation enhancements).
  • Lead technical evaluation, business justification, and implementation of energy-efficiency and reliability projects.
  • Prepare cost–benefit analyses, budget estimates, and technical specifications.

Leadership \& Team Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop electricians and electrical technicians; assign work and monitor performance.
  • Coach and evaluate team members, provide constructive feedback, and identify development opportunities.

Skills \& Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering.
  • 5\+ years’ experience in food, dairy, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with power panels, transformers, distribution boards, MV/LV switchgear, and operational maintenance.
  • Practical knowledge of automation systems (PLCs — e.g., Siemens, Schneider — and SCADA).
  • Proven team‑management experience; able to lead a large technical team.
  • Experience delivering energy‑saving or power‑optimization projects.
