Principal Thermal/Mechanical Engineer

Lawrence Harvey has been engaged by a global energy storage and power systems manufacturer on a position that is critical to the continued advancement, reliability, and performance of next generation utility scale energy storage systems.

They are looking for a Thermal/Mechanical Engineer who will serve as the senior technical authority across thermal management, enclosure systems, and mechanical design for utility scale BESS products. This individual will lead system level design reviews, support field issue resolution and root cause analysis, contribute to vendor and equipment decisions, and drive continuous product improvement based on operational and performance data.

The successful candidate will be joining a highly technical and collaborative engineering organization and will play a key role in improving system reliability, environmental resilience, safety, and long term product performance across global deployments.

The Ideal Candidate has:

• 10\+ years of mechanical engineering experience within BESS, power conversion, data center infrastructure, automotive, aerospace, or similarly complex industrial systems

• Deep expertise in thermal management systems, cooling design, enclosure engineering, and structural performance validation

• Strong experience with root cause analysis, engineering testing, thermal modeling, CFD, and translating field performance into product improvements

• Knowledge of industry standards such as NFPA 855, UL 9540, IEEE 693, and ASHRAE, with experience supporting highly reliable mission critical systems
