Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise buyers handling medical consumables such as gloves, gowns, masks, syringes, dressings, and other clinical consumable items, excluding pharmaceuticals.
  • Lead and supervise buyers handling laboratory consumables and coordinate closely with laboratory end users to ensure item availability and specification alignment.
  • Lead and supervise buyers handling non-medical consumables, spare parts, maintenance-related items ,and operational support materials.
  • Lead and supervise buyers handling non-medical furniture and office furniture requirements for hospitals, medical centers, and administrative areas.
  • Lead and supervise buyers handling IT equipment and related non-pharmaceutical procurement requirements in coordination with the IT Department.
  • Review and approve procurement priorities, sourcing plans, quotations, supplier recommendations, and purchase order follow-ups within delegated authority.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with AH policies, approved budgets, delegation of authority, and applicable procurement procedures.
  • Monitor open purchase requisitions and purchase orders to reduce delays, improve delivery
  • performance, and support continuity of operations.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Store, Finance, Quality, Biomedical Engineering, IT, Maintenance, Laboratory, and end users to resolve procurement-related issues.
  • Evaluate supplier performance related to price, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and after-sales support, and escalate critical issues when required.
  • Support standardization, alternative sourcing, and cost-saving initiatives for consumables, furniture, spare parts, laboratory, and IT-related categories.
  • Ensure proper documentation of quotations, evaluations, approvals, supplier communications, and procurement decisions.
  • Support patient care and hospital operations by ensuring required supplies and services are available on time and in line with approved standards.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain is preferred.

Work Experience

  • From 6-8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or category management, preferably in healthcare, with
  • 2-4 years in a supervisory or managerial role managing buyers and supplier relationships.
