A mission-driven California-based organization is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to build and lead a centralized procurement and contract management function across a large, multi-site operation. This newly elevated role offers the opportunity to create lasting infrastructure, influence executive decision-making, and drive significant operational efficiencies.

If you enjoy building systems, negotiating complex vendor agreements, and serving as a strategic business partner, this could be an outstanding next step in your career.

As the organization's lead and only procurement professional, you will:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy and centralized purchasing function.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, supplier evaluations, RFP processes, and vendor negotiations.
  • Develop procurement policies, procedures, and contract management standards.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership, finance, operations, legal, and technology teams.
  • Manage vendor contracts throughout their lifecycle, including renewals, compliance, and performance monitoring.
  • Deliver spend analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish best practices for procurement technology, asset management, and purchasing workflows.
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on procurement and contract administration.

What We're Looking For:

  • 7\+ years of progressive procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or contract administration experience.
  • Proven success building or transforming procurement processes and systems.
  • Strong background in RFP development, supplier management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience working with ERP, procurement, and contract management platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPM, CPPB, CPPO, CPSM, or similar credentials are highly valued.
