Procurement Manager

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-oriented
Procurement Manager
to lead purchasing, strategic sourcing, and supplier management across a growing network of maintenance and industrial service operations.
This leader will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating supplier agreements, managing procurement processes, and ensuring operational teams have the equipment, parts, and supplies necessary to safely and efficiently serve customers.
The Procurement Manager will partner closely with operations leadership, finance, field management, and suppliers to improve purchasing performance, optimize inventory, reduce costs, and strengthen supplier relationships. As the organization continues to grow through both organic expansion and acquisitions, this individual will play an important role in standardizing procurement processes, integrating new locations, and building scalable procurement practices that support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement \& Sourcing
- Lead procurement activities across multiple operating locations and corporate functions.
- Develop sourcing strategies and negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with suppliers.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships that improve quality, reliability, and overall value.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Establish procurement policies, procedures, and best practices that support operational excellence.
Operations Support
- Partner with operations leaders to understand material, equipment, and supply requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement of maintenance materials, safety equipment, tools, consumables, and operating supplies.
- Coordinate purchasing priorities to support production schedules and customer commitments.
- Resolve supply chain challenges and urgent procurement needs with speed and creativity.
- Support the procurement integration of newly acquired facilities and business units.
Supplier \& Contract Management
- Manage supplier qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance evaluations.
- Maintain supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and procurement documentation.
- Conduct regular supplier reviews to evaluate quality, delivery performance, responsiveness, and competitiveness.
- Develop preferred supplier programs that leverage purchasing volume and improve consistency across locations.
Inventory \& Cost Management
- Collaborate with finance and operations to monitor purchasing trends and spending.
- Analyze procurement data to identify cost savings and improve purchasing forecasts.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives that balance operational readiness with working capital efficiency.
- Track procurement KPIs, including supplier performance, purchase order cycle times, cost savings, and inventory metrics.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Safety, and Executive Leadership to support organizational objectives.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to procurement and materials spending.
- Prepare procurement reports, recommendations, and business insights for leadership.
- Support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Five or more years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain leadership experience.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Experience supporting multiple locations or distributed operations.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of an organization.
Preferred
- Experience supporting industrial services, manufacturing, transportation, heavy equipment, maintenance, construction, or similarly operations-intensive industries.
- Experience in multi-site organizations.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or CPM.
