Job Description

About Nevam

Nevam is building the future of customer experience visibility. We help enterprise teams move from fragmented strategy to continuous optimisation by automating journey mapping and connecting content, systems, and teams in one view - organising experience across web, email, SMS, social, and offline, with real-time insight layered on content-level tracking.

We're evolving fast, moving from AI-surfaced insights toward a platform where users converse directly with our own LLM to build journeys, interrogate insights, and bring business context into the product itself.

Why Nevam

We're building the future of marketing and customer centricity and pushing toward what we believe will become the first CX digital twin for enterprises.

This role brings the design craft to shape how that platform looks, feels, and works - from early traction to scalable, repeatable growth.

You'll:

  • Design a product that closes the enterprise "visibility gap"
  • Work directly with real customers solving complex, messy problems
  • Shape the design foundations of a category-defining, AI-native platform
  • Help establish a culture of continuous, user-informed iteration

What it means to be a Product Designer at Nevam

This isn't just about polishing screens. It's about shaping how a category defining product looks, feels, and works - from first flows through to fully realised interactions.

You'll partner with our Lead Engineer on prioritisation and sequencing, and with the CEO and Growth Partner on direction. A core part of this role is shaping how our conversational AI experience works - how users chat with our LLM to build journeys, interrogate insights, and bring business context into the product itself. We're looking for someone who has genuinely designed for this kind of interaction, not just experimented with AI tools in their own workflow.

You're energised by ambiguity. White space excites you. You:

  • Own your craft end to end. You're hands-on, pragmatic, and get things done
  • Surface what isn't working and fix it
  • Think beyond screens to product thinking and long-term platform design
  • Care about craft, but know when "perfect" slows progress
  • Want to build and shape a design practice at Nevam over time

This role is yours to shape. Real ownership, real impact, real responsibility.

What you'll own

Nevam is solving real problems for large enterprise clients - and this role is central to how we scale.

You'll be hands-on in the day to day and thinking ahead about where the product needs to be in two years. You'll work directly with customers, understand their problems deeply, and use that to shape how and why we design.

In practice that means:

  • Drafting acceptance criteria and user stories, and driving feature definition from discovery to delivery
  • Owning the end-to-end design process: discovery, flows, wireframes, visual design, prototyping, and usability testing
  • Designing the conversational AI experience - how users chat with our LLM to build journeys, interrogate AI-generated insights, and layer in business context, with clear handling of uncertainty and trust
  • Partnering with the Lead Engineer on what ships next and in what order
  • Building and maintaining a consistent design system as the product scales
  • Running user research directly with enterprise clients to validate ideas before they're built
  • Working effectively with our distributed engineering team, driving design decisions clearly and asynchronously across time zones

About you

We're less tied to your title and are more interested in the experience you bring. What matters is your ability to make informed decisions and design with impact.

You'll bring:

  • 2\+ years in product design in a startup or fast-paced environment
  • A strong portfolio showing user-centric, data informed design for complex or enterprise tools
  • Genuine experience designing for AI - even better if it’s been for conversational LLM features, our core interaction model
  • Comfort using AI to build - prototyping and shipping directly in IDE-based dev environments with tools like Claude Code, rather than just Figma AI plugins
  • Evidence you've influenced product decisions, not just executed on a brief. We'll ask about a time you pushed back on scope or said no to a feature
  • Comfort partnering with engineering directly on tradeoffs, without a PM layer in between

Nice to have:

  • Experience with customer journey mapping, martech, or enterprise SaaS
  • Experience working with distributed or offshore engineering teams specifically

Why join us

You'll be joining at the ground level of a company with enterprise customers, proven product traction, and a recent capital raise to accelerate our growth. What that looks like in practice:

  • A seat at the table from day one - product strategy, commercial decisions, customer conversations. We don't gatekeep context.
  • Real equity via our ESOP program so you share in the value you help create
  • Competitive base salary, super, and WFH allowance
  • Hybrid role based in Sydney with a flexible mix of remote and in-office
  • The opportunity to build and shape a design practice over time. The role grows with the company

If you want autonomy, accountability, and the chance to build something category defining, this is it.
