About The Role

We are seeking a talented and innovative Staff Product Designer to join our Direct‑to‑Consumer (DTC) team. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of consumer finance by designing impactful, customer-centric experiences for Affirm’s app and card products. You will lead design initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and push the boundaries of financial product design to deliver intuitive, trustworthy solutions that resonate with millions of users. This role offers a unique chance to influence a critical area of our business at a significant inflection point, supported by a highly experienced team dedicated to pushing the industry forward through bold ideas and exceptional craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• Proven experience in product design, particularly in mobile app and digital product environments
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual design, interaction design, and user experience
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
• Experience with data-driven design, experimentation, and iterative development processes
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
• Strong understanding of financial products and user needs within the fintech space is a plus
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design process for Affirm’s app and card experiences, ensuring solutions are customer-focused and aligned with business goals
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, marketers, and researchers to develop innovative, seamless user experiences
• Translate complex financial concepts into simple, engaging, and trustworthy designs
• Develop and maintain design systems, interaction patterns, and visual standards to ensure consistency across products
• Utilize user research, analytics, and testing to inform design decisions and continuously optimize user experiences
• Push creative boundaries by challenging the status quo and exploring bold, innovative solutions
• Balance short-term deliverables with long-term strategic vision to ensure scalability and coherence
• Advocate for a test-and-learn approach, leveraging experimentation to refine product features and interfaces
• Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative, inclusive design culture within the team
