About the Role

MW Talent is partnering with a leading chemical manufacturer to hire a

Product Development Chemist

focused on fertilizer resins. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on in the lab, designing and synthesizing slow-release fertilizer products that directly impact agricultural productivity. The ideal candidate will bring strong industrial R\&D experience and be able to step into ongoing projects while also contributing to new product innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to R\&D projects focused on the design and synthesis of fertilizer resins and slow-release polymer products for agricultural applications.
  • Perform laboratory synthesis, formulation, and testing of new fertilizer products under the guidance of the R\&D manager.
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization of formulations to improve performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with fellow chemists, production, and applications teams to assist with scale-up and commercialization.
  • Maintain accurate lab documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Chemistry (or related field).
  • 4-5\+ years of

industrial product development experience

(beyond academic or school research).

  • Proven expertise in resin/polymer synthesis with direct background in fertilizer chemistry.

MUST HAVE

  • Hands-on experience developing

slow-release fertilizers

(not just additives).

MUST HAVE

  • Ability to work independently in the lab and contribute to new product development from concept through synthesis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset.

Preferred

  • Experience in scale-up of fertilizer resins.
  • Familiarity with

Design of Experiments (DOE)

and project planning tools.

  • Knowledge of industrial resin production processes.
