Purpose of the role:
The Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects that support strategic, regulatory, and operational objectives across the organisation. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring clear governance, engaged stakeholders, and effective risk management. As a key contributor within a complex, fast-moving financial institution, the Project Manager ensures delivery discipline, drives collaboration across teams, and enables measurable business outcomes.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and within budget
- Define project scope, governance structures, delivery plans, milestones, resource requirements, and success measures
- Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change control, ensuring appropriate escalation and mitigation
- Produce high-quality documentation including business cases, project plans, RAID logs, steering packs, and progress updates
- Facilitate project ceremonies—kick-offs, stand-ups, workshops, steering committees—and ensure clear, actionable outputs
- Coordinate cross-functional teams such as Technology, Compliance, Operations, Risk, Legal, and Finance to deliver project objectives
- Engage senior stakeholders, providing clear, concise communication tailored to different audiences
- Oversee vendor, partner, or third-party contributions where relevant, ensuring contractual and delivery alignment
- Support organisational change activities, including communications, training, user adoption, and readiness planning
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery frameworks, reporting standards, and governance practices
Skills And Experience
- Proven experience delivering projects within financial services or a similarly regulated environment
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid), governance practices, and project controls
- Experience producing robust project documentation and operating within structured governance environments
- Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, build business cases, and support informed decision-making
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and project tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Planner, or Azure DevOps
- Demonstrable experience managing cross-functional teams and coordinating stakeholders at multiple levels
- Professional certifications such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Scrum Master, or AgilePM are advantageous
