The Critical Environments
Project Manager
directs projects from sales turnover through closeout, ensuring designs, equipment selections, materials, labor, testing requirements, certification activities, and field execution remain on schedule, within budget, and a
ligned with customer expectations. This position routinely visits project sites to oversee progress, attend coordination meetings, resolve issues, and support the successful delivery of critical environment
solutions for healthcare, laboratory, life sciences, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and other controlled environments.
**What
you'll
do**
- Manage critical environment projects from sales turnover through closeout, developing and
maintaining
project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and certification milestones while ensuring projects
remain
on schedule, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations.
- Coordinate all phases of project execution, including engineering, equipment procurement, subcontractors, testing, commissioning, certification activities, field operations, and customer communications to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review contracts, specifications, equipment selections, drawings, airflow requirements, and project documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and critical environment performance
objectives
.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, certification agencies, and internal teams by leading project meetings,
change
orders, resolving project issues, and providing regular status updates.
- Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, progress billing support, change order management, labor planning, and resource allocation while protecting project margins.
- Oversee project documentation, testing and certification records, closeout deliverables, owner training, warranty coordination, and turnover to service teams to ensure a seamless transition and long-term customer success.
- Build and
maintain
strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders while
identifying
opportunities to support future projects and ongoing service agreements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or
related field;
equivalent
combinations of education and relevant project management experience will be considered.
- Experience managing projects involving HVAC systems, critical airflow systems, cleanrooms, or other controlled environments preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, airflow diagrams, testing and certification reports, and project schedules.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, resource allocation, change order management, and risk mitigation.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills with the ability to
maintain
accurate
project records and drive projects to successful completion.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to lead meetings, collaborate across engineering, field operations, service, and sales teams, and effectively communicate with customers and project stakeholders.
- Proficiency
with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and project management software such as Procore,
BidTracer
,
eComm
, or similar platforms.
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in a combination of an office environment which, requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards; and on job sites, which requires the ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.
