We’re looking for a DAM Librarian who goes beyond organizing files. This person owns the health of our digital asset ecosystem — across the DAM platform and the underlying storage, servers, and governance practices that support it.
This role requires someone who understands how assets move, where they live, and why governance matters. You’ll partner closely with Creative Ops, IT, and Marketing to ensure our DAM is reliable, scalable, and compliant — without slowing teams down.
This is not a pure archive role and not an IT admin role. It’s a bridge role between creative operations, systems, and infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
DAM System Ownership \& Asset Oversight (about 30%)
- Own day-to-day stewardship of the DAM system and asset libraries.
- Ensure assets are organized, searchable, and trusted by teams.
- Define and enforce metadata standards, taxonomies, and naming conventions.
- Maintain asset consistency across versions, formats, and use cases.
Server, Storage \& Infrastructure Best Practices (about 25%)
- Partner with IT to align DAM usage with server and storage best practices.
- Monitor how assets are stored, synced, archived, and backed up.
- Help define rules around file sizes, formats, folder structures, and retention.
- Flag risks related to storage sprawl, duplication, or improper usage.
- Ensure DAM practices don’t create downstream infrastructure issues.
Governance, Compliance \& Lifecycle Management (about 20%)
- Define and maintain governance standards for asset usage and access.
- Manage asset lifecycles from intake through archival or retirement.
- Track usage rights, expirations, and restrictions in partnership with Legal and Brand.
- Ensure deprecated or expired assets are removed from circulation.
Intake, QA \& Publishing Controls (about 15%)
- Support asset intake from internal teams and external agencies.
- Perform quality checks before assets are published or distributed.
- Validate technical specs, naming, metadata completeness, and version accuracy.
- Coordinate fixes when assets don’t meet standards.
Cross-Team Enablement \& Process Improvement (about 10%)
- Work closely with Creative Ops, Producers, IT, Brand, and Marketing.
- Train teams on DAM usage, governance rules, and best practices.
- Document workflows, standards, and decision rules.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies and propose improvements proactively.
