Job Description

Project Manager / Senior Project Manager

$25M-$100M commercial builds. A specialized niche in private aviation. Real ownership from preconstruction to closeout.

About Centrex

Centrex is a commercial construction company with a specialized focus on private aviation projects, hangars, FBOs, and aviation facilities that don't follow a standard playbook. We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which means clear priorities, fast decisions, and no layers of bureaucracy between you and the work.

We're hiring a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to run point on complex commercial projects in the $25M-$100M range, from preconstruction through closeout. This is a field-tested, run-your-own-job role for someone who's comfortable owning schedule, budget, subs, and client relationships without a lot of hand-holding.

What You'll Own

  • Run the full project lifecycle.

From initial planning and budgeting through final delivery, on schedule, on budget, in scope, and safe.

  • Direct the job.

Manage subs, engineers, and project stakeholders day to day. Keep communication tight and hold people accountable to the schedule.

  • Be the client's main point of contact.

Manage expectations, deliver straight updates on progress, and get ahead of concerns before they turn into change orders or disputes.

  • Own the budget.

Build and manage project budgets, forecast, track costs, manage changes, and report on profitability with real numbers, not guesses.

  • Enforce quality on site.

Regular inspections, code compliance, and a low tolerance for cutting corners.

  • Manage risk before it manages you.

Identify exposure early and build mitigation plans that actually hold up under field conditions.

What You Bring

  • 10\+ years running commercial construction projects, with a track record on jobs between $10M and $50M\+. This isn't an entry point for someone managing their first big job.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field strongly preferred. PMP, CCM, or LEED AP is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software like MS Project or Primavera. You should already know your way around these, not learn them on the job.
  • Track record leading subs, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams on complex sites. Bonus if you've mentored PMs or superintendents coming up behind you.
  • A reputation for straight talk with clients and the ability to hold relationships through tough phases of a job.
  • Working knowledge of design-build and design-assist delivery methods.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred. Additional safety credentials are a plus.

Location \& Travel

  • We're prioritizing candidates in the Western US, with a strong preference for California, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, or the Pacific Northwest.
  • Expect

30-50% travel

depending on where you're based and what's active in your project portfolio.

Compensation \& Benefits

  • $130,000 to $170,000 base salary, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
