Beauflor USA, headquartered in White, GA, is a leader in the production and sale of cushion vinyl flooring. Our parent company, Beaulieu International Group (BIG), is headquartered in Belgium and holds a major stake in the production of raw materials and semi-finished products (polypropylene, granules and fibers) and in finished products (technical textiles, cushion vinyl, needle felt, parquet, laminate, tuft, bath rugs and fabrics).  BIG operates 20 plants and 32 sales offices and distribution centers across 18 countries around the world.

Job Overview (Role \& Mission)

The Purchasing Manager

oversees the process of buying materials, products, or services that a company needs to operate. The role focuses on obtaining the

best quality goods at the best price while ensuring reliable supply and timely delivery.

It is a key position within Supply Chain Management and procurement operations.

Reporting \& Functional Relationships

Position Reports To:  Director of Supply Chain

Direct Reports: Buyers

Functional Responsibilities (Functions / results include but not limited to)

Responsibilities:

·      Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure cost-competitive materials.

·      Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors in conjunction with or in support of the group category manager(s).

·      Seek alternative sources of supply.

·      Monitor supplier performance. Act as an intermediary for supplier quality, delivery, performance issues.

·      Maintain supplier relationships so the company remains in a positive position as a customer of choice, resulting in favorable pricing, terms, etc.

·      Work with other colleagues to optimize inventory levels where appropriate while still supporting planned production levels.

·      Maintain purchasing records within the ERP system. Maintain / update local procurement procedures (in line with group procedures).

·      Maintain awareness of market conditions, trends, and geopolitical events and how those could impact the company. Take action as needed.

·      Able to operate and collaborate cross functionally.

·      Comfortable and confident in dealing with all management levels, especially externally.

·      Report results as required.

·      Coach / train purchasing staff (if applicable).

·      Responsible for department budget.

·      Represents the company in a professional and positive manner with suppliers and potential suppliers.

Profile (Qualifications)

Education \& Preferred Experience:

·      Bachelor’s degree in operation management, business administration, supply chain management or related field.

·      5-10 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles

·      Vendor sourcing and supplier evaluation

·      Negotiation of pricing and contracts

·       Purchase order and inventory management

·       Budget control and cost reduction strategies

·      Working with procurement systems (ERP tools especially SAP)

·      Managing supplier relationships and performance

TRAVEL:

  • Ability to travel approximately 10-25%

The successful candidate will:

Be assertive towards progress, aggressive in negotiations, and able to think strategically.

They must be a quick thinker and able to pivot/adjust/respond in supplier negotiations rapidly.

They must balance the ability to build relationships with suppliers while holding their ground in negotiations.

They must be able to operate independently as a local procurement expert but be connected globally to support corporate initiatives.
