POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to be assigned to our power plant project in West Africa. The ideal candidate will have strong command of international quality and HSE standards, proven site experience, team management capability, and familiarity with OEM equipment installation processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific QA/QC Plans (QCP).
• Manage compliance processes in accordance with ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards.
• Coordinate quality control activities across all disciplines (mechanical, piping, structural steel, electrical) at project sites.
• Perform quality inspections during material receipt, fabrication, erection, and testing phases.
• Oversee welding procedure preparation, qualification, and field compliance tracking in accordance with ASME Section IX (WPS/PQR).
• Manage NDT coordination and hydrostatic/pneumatic testing processes.
• Prepare and manage approval workflows for ITPs, Method Statements, and Inspection Reports.
• Ensure OEM (GE Vernova, etc.) vendor supervisor coordination and compliance with OEM ITPs during equipment installation.
• Lead internal and external audits (client, third-party, certification bodies).
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCR), root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor and audit subcontractor and supplier quality performance.
• Ensure quality process coordination between site and head office teams.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports to project management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in EPC, power plant, or industrial plant projects.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System implementation.
• International project and site experience.
• Solid QA/QC knowledge in welding (ASME Section IX), mechanical erection, structural steel, and piping works.
• Proficiency in quality documentation, reporting, and document management systems.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Analytical thinker with strong discipline, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities.
• Willing and available for long-term overseas assignments and site-based work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior work experience on projects in Africa.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 / ISO 45001\.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
• CSWIP, AWS CWI, or equivalent welding inspection certifications.
• Familiarity with ASME B31\.1, B31\.3, AWS D1\.1, and API 650 standards.
• English language proficiency.
• Experience with project/document management systems.
