About the Role:
This position plays a critical role in overseeing shop and field service activities, developing technicians, and ensuring the highest standards of
safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
within a fast-paced service environment.
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in
operations management, continuous improvement, and hands-on technical oversight
within the pressure relief valve and valve repair industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations
of the valve service department, including shop and field assignments, technician scheduling, and workflow management.
- Supervise and develop valve technicians
, providing mentoring, coaching, and performance management to support skill development and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with
industry codes and standards
, including American Society of Mechanical Engineers and National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors requirements.
- Oversee repair documentation, technician reports, and service records to ensure accuracy and adherence to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of
repair processes, procedures, and training programs
for pressure relief valves and valve/actuator repair.
- Provide oversight on quoting and coordination with the service administration team to ensure efficient project execution and scheduling.
- Identify opportunities for
continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and capital investments
, with a focus on strong return on investment.
- Maintain a strong focus on
safety, quality, and customer service
while coordinating with internal teams and external customers.
Qualifications
- Experience in
industrial valve repair, pressure relief valves, or valve service operations
- Strong understanding of
ASME, NBIC, API, and PSM codes and standards
- Proven leadership experience supervising technicians or service teams
- Strong operational management, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with
service scheduling, technician development, and quality oversight
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed, including occasional overnight travel
