1 East Surgical Ortho/Spine \& Bariatrics

  • Care for a diverse surgical patient population—including orthopedics, spine, bariatrics, and high-acuity cases from Endoscopy, General Surgery, and GI—where patients typically stay 1–2 days, allowing for efficient, high-impact clinical care.
  • Collaborate with nationally recognized bariatric surgeons and a skilled multidisciplinary team to deliver specialized metabolic and surgical care, enhancing both patient outcomes and your clinical expertise.

Emergency Department

  • Deliver lifesaving care in a fast-paced 37-bed Emergency Department, treating over 53,000 patients annually—including a dedicated 5-bed Behavioral Health Safe Suite—where every shift brings diverse clinical challenges from minor injuries to critical, high-acuity cases.
  • Work alongside a skilled, collaborative team of emergency nurses, physicians, and techs, utilizing advanced technology and rapid response protocols to provide timely, effective care in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Build and refine advanced assessment and triage skills while being supported by innovative leadership and ongoing opportunities for professional growth, making the ED an ideal setting for nurses passionate about making a real difference in the Suffolk community.

Operating Room

  • Manage and scrub for approximately 5,000 surgical cases annually, spanning a wide range of specialties and providing experience in both routine and complex procedures in a Magnet-recognized Primary Stroke Center.
  • Build expertise across multiple surgical specialties, including robotic and advanced surgeries (DaVinci system), orthopedics and spine (joint replacements, neurological cases), general surgery, gynecology, vascular, podiatry, and plastic/reconstructive cases.
  • Contribute to care in obstetric surgical cases by assisting in Labor \& Delivery operating rooms for C-sections, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary surgical team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment that prioritizes clinical growth, teamwork, and excellence.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced healthcare environment, including assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and delivering treatments. RNs also offer compassionate support and education to patients and families while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to monitor progress, make clinical decisions, and drive optimal outcomes—all with a strong focus on patient safety, quality, and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing program
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State RN License in good standing
  • BLS Certification (within 90 days of hire)
