This 77-employee, Pennybacker-backed firm ($200M growth equity \+ $150M ING credit facility), which operates 35\+ industrial systems globally and is preparing to deploy $120M in capital in 2026, is hiring Business Development Representatives to generate and qualify leads for $10M–$15M Capex deals. The hybrid role is based out of their Manhattan office (Financial District).
Solution
The company designs, builds, owns, and operates modular water treatment systems on a pay-per-use basis, turning industrial wastewater into a renewable asset. Their Water-Energy Purchase Agreement (WEPA) model eliminates upfront Capex and enables companies to dramatically reduce costs, risk, and environmental impact.
Flagship systems include modular wastewater treatment and AI/IoT optimization technologies. Major clients include Anheuser-Busch, Sapporo, Keurig Dr Pepper, LVMH, and Discovery Land.

Role
- Individual contributor role, reporting to the CRO and working hybrid from NYC.
- $80k to $90k base for Junior BDRs, $100k to $110k for Senior BDRs. OTE is $130K to $200K\+.
- Commissions: $3K per Qualified Opportunity and $4K per signed MOU, with accelerators in place.
- You’ll prospect into food, beverage, and industrial companies, including Fortune 1000 firms.
- This is a career-launching role: Top AEs earn $600K\+.
- Ideal candidates have 6 to 24 months of SDR/BDR experience and a passion for rip-and-replace sales motions.
- Comfort selling into legacy vendor environments and qualifying highly technical enterprise solutions is key. Up to 30% travel for training and customer visits.

The Role
We are hiring Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to drive pipeline growth and qualify new opportunities for the advanced sales team. As a BDR, you’ll be instrumental in engaging decision-makers at leading brands and helping them explore more sustainable and cost-effective solutions for their water treatment needs.
This role is ideal for early-career sales professionals who are gritty, proactive, and passionate about sustainability.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct outreach and discovery with target accounts in the beverage, food, and industrial sectors
- Qualify leads and secure meetings with decision-makers for the advanced sales team
- Maintain accurate data and activity tracking in HubSpot
- Collaborate with marketing and leadership to refine messaging and lead generation strategies
- Stay up to date on water infrastructure trends and communicate the company’s value proposition clearly
Who You Are
- 0–18 months of BDR or SDR experience (we're hiring both junior and senior reps)
- Comfortable engaging in “rip-and-replace” sales motions where the company displaces legacy vendors
- Excited about working in-office (Watertown, MA HQ or NYC Manhattan office)
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and passionate about sustainability and innovation
- Strong communicator with excellent qualification and research skills
Compensation \& Career Path
Base Salary:
- Junior BDR: $85,000–$90,000
- Senior BDR: $100,000–$110,000
Commissions:
- $3,000 per Qualified Opportunity
- $4,000 per signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
