Sample & Logistics Coordinator (Hourly)

Role

We are seeking a reliable, organized, hands-on hourly team member based in the Charleston, SC area to support seafood sample preparation, shipment coordination, and logistics assistance. This role is critical to supporting customer sample requests, sales initiatives, product development, and operational coordination.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, comfortable handling frozen products, and has adequate space to house a large freezer for temporary sample storage and staging.

Key Responsibilities

Sample Preparation \& Shipping

• Receive, organize, and maintain frozen seafood samples
• Store samples appropriately in dedicated freezer space
• Prepare customer sample packs based on instructions
• Assemble shipping materials, labels, and documentation
• Coordinate FedEx/UPS shipments and track deliveries
• Ensure samples are packed professionally and maintain cold-chain integrity
• Maintain inventory of sample products and shipping supplies
• Assist with urgent or same-day sample requests when needed

Logistics \& Operational Support

• Support coordination of inbound and outbound shipments
• Assist with shipment tracking and logistics follow-up
• Communicate shipment updates internally
• Help organize logistics records, tracking files, and inventory logs
• Assist with miscellaneous operational and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

• Based in or near Charleston, South Carolina
• Must have space and ability to accommodate a large freezer for sample storage
• Reliable transportation and ability to transport samples to shipping locations if needed
• Comfortable handling frozen seafood products
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to requests
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, shipment portals, tracking systems)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, food distribution, or shipping coordination
• Experience with FedEx, UPS, or freight shipment coordination
• Familiarity with cold-chain handling practices
• Experience supporting sales samples or food product fulfillment
