Job Description
We are looking for an experienced SAT English Teacher who can deliver rigorous, engaging, and well-structured instruction aligned with the latest SAT English exam format. The ideal candidate is familiar with Digital SAT Reading and Writing question types, can clearly explain test-taking strategies, and is passionate about helping students achieve measurable score improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality SAT English lessons aligned with current Digital SAT standards and question types.
- Teach core content areas including reading comprehension, grammar, rhetoric, transitions, sentence structure, and revision/editing skills.
- Help students develop effective test-taking strategies, time management skills, and error-analysis habits.
- Use diagnostic data, quizzes, and mock tests to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Provide clear explanations of answer choices and guide students in understanding College Board-style logic.
- Assign and review homework, practice sets, and targeted reinforcement materials.
- Create a supportive, motivating, and academically rigorous classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and academic coordinators regarding progress and learning goals.
- Collaborate with curriculum teams and staff to improve teaching materials and student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assignments, assessments, and student performance.
- Participate in training, meetings, and other academic support activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in English, Education, Linguistics, Literature, or a related field.
- Strong familiarity with the Digital SAT Reading and Writing section.
- Prior experience teaching SAT English, standardized test preparation, or secondary ELA instruction preferred.
- Excellent instructional planning, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to break down complex language concepts into clear, student-friendly explanations.
- Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and responsiveness.
- Experience teaching in an online setting is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience helping students achieve strong SAT score improvement.
- Familiarity with College Board question design and test-prep methodology.
- Experience working with middle school and high school students from diverse academic backgrounds.
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced academic background is a plus.
