Role Overview

The Scientist I is responsible for independent method development, sample testing, and method qualification support for analytical methods for gene therapy products.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently design, execute, and interpret studies for development of analytical methods for AAV products.
• Author documents in support of analytical development activities.
• Review ELN entries for other group members as needed.
• Routinely execute test methods in support of process development and development vector characterization.
• Support Quality Control with qualification of analytical test methods and identify needs for release testing.
• Collaborate with other scientists and routinely present data.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Experience \& Skills and Work Environment

Experience \& Skills

• Degree in relevant discipline plus working experience in a pharmaceutical/ biotechnology or CRO laboratory setting:

+ Bachelor’s degree with 6\+ years of work experience

+ Master’s degree with 2\+ years of work experience

+ PhD degree or equivalent with 0\+ years of work experience

• Experience with executing and developing separations methods (primarily HPLC), plate-based methods (i.e. ELISA and activity assays), and/or PCR assays for AAV gene. therapies or protein therapeutics
• State of the industry analytical knowledge.
• Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Work Environment

• Primarily a laboratory setting
• May involve standing, sitting, and using laboratory equipment for extended periods.
• Some lifting of equipment or materials may be required.
• Work may involve exposure to chemicals or biological materials; proper handling and disposal procedures must be followed.
