Senior Accountant

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking experienced Senior Accountants to help stabilize and strengthen the accounting function during a leadership transition and year-end audit/tax cycle. This role will play a key part in month-end close, multi-entity accounting, payment industry reporting, and supporting external audit requirements. The ideal candidate is sharp, confident, and self-directed — someone who drives their own work, solves problems independently, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and review complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage multi-entity consolidations, allocations, and eliminations
• Support accounting for payment industry activities, including residuals and partner payouts
• Maintain and analyze fixed asset schedules
• Support external audit and tax processes with schedules and documentation
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies
• Partner cross-functionally to analyze financial results and support decision-making
• Mentor and provide guidance to Staff Accountants

Qualifications \& Experience

• 3–6\+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong preference for NetSuite experience
• Experience in the payment processing industry (residuals, partner payouts) strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups across sheets, data analysis)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and multi-entity environments
• Ability to work independently without constant direction or validation
• Demonstrated critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills
• Stable career progression (seeking long-term growth vs. quick title changes)
• CPA or CPA-track candidates valued
