Job Description

Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is hiring for a senior-level accounting professional. This role sits at the center of a finance team operating in an entrepreneurial environment with the stability of a commercial-stage biotech. The team blends the agility of a startup with the discipline of a company whose products are grounded in research and used in both human and animal health.

You’ll take ownership of essential accounting operations that keep the business running, while also shaping the processes that support our next phase of growth. The work is hands-on, visible, and directly connected to how our science-driven company scales.

What You’ll Own

  • Execute daily accounting functions with high accuracy and a sense of accountability
  • Lead month-end close activities that leadership depends on for real-time decisions
  • Maintain clean, reliable reconciliations across key accounts
  • Manage the full revenue and payables cycle and ensure a smooth experience for customers and vendors
  • Own sales and use tax compliance, keeping filings on track and accurate
  • Manage wholesale orders, acting as a critical link for our commercial operations
  • Oversee expense reporting and reimbursement workflows
  • Identify and implement workflows that make the finance function faster, clearer, and more scalable
  • Partner closely with teams across the business to ensure financial and operational alignment

What We’d Like

  • A strong accounting foundation built over 5\+ years of related experience, ideally in highly regulated commercial environments or sectors
  • Confidence managing month-end and maintaining accurate financials
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort navigating modern ERP/accounting software
  • An ability to bring order to competing priorities and keep critical work moving without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Communicates with intention and keeps partners aligned through steady follow-through
  • Added value from backgrounds in commercial-stage organizations managing high-volume transactions and inventory flow

Why This Role

You’ll be joining a company that’s small enough for your work to matter every day and established enough to make a real impact in human and animal health. The team operates with the speed and flexibility of a startup while building products backed by science and commercial traction. Finance is tightly connected to operations, so the work you do directly supports clinicians, partners, and customers who rely on the company’s products. This role gives you ownership, visibility, and the chance to help build the financial backbone of a growing organization with a meaningful mission.
