Senior Accounting Manager

A global organization is seeking a
Senior Accounting Manager
to support the integration of a recently acquired
$1B\+ business unit
. This role will oversee accounting activities during the
Transition Services Agreement (TSA) period
, ensuring accurate financial reporting while helping transition accounting operations to internal systems and processes.
This is a
high-impact leadership role
that requires strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting
M\&A integrations, carve-outs, or complex accounting transitions
.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accounting Manager will lead and support several key areas, including:
- Support
purchase accounting adjustments
related to the recent acquisition and assist with integration into the organization’s accounting and reporting structure. Maintain accurate documentation of acquisition-related journal entries and adjustments.
- Monitor
monthly TSA accruals and intercompany invoices
between global entities.
- Lead the
monthly close process
for multiple accounting ledgers and oversee transactions recorded across additional international entities in accordance with the financial close calendar.
- Review and validate financial data provided by the seller, including
trial balances, reconciliations, and journal entries
.
- Support
Sales and Property Tax governance processes
for newly established U.S. and European entities, working with third-party providers responsible for filings.
- Manage the
Fixed Assets Capital Acquisition Request (CAR) process
, support CAPEX governance, and implement tools and procedures for capital expenditure tracking and CIP capitalization.
- Develop and execute strategies for transitioning accounting responsibilities from TSA providers to internal teams or shared services.
- Perform
technical accounting research
on complex matters to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Coordinate quarterly reviews and
year-end financial audits
with external auditors.
- Collaborate closely with
M\&A, tax, legal, treasury, and business unit leadership
throughout the integration process.
- Identify and drive
process improvement initiatives
across accounting operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting or Finance
(CPA strongly preferred)
- 8\+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
, including leadership responsibilities
- Combination of
public accounting and industry experience
preferred
- Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP and technical accounting
- Experience supporting
M\&A integrations, acquisitions, or carve-outs
- Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively within a
large, matrixed, international environment
- Proven ability to manage
multiple priorities and cross-functional initiatives
- Demonstrated success driving
process improvements and operational efficiency
