We are currently partnered with an innovative tech start-up that is looking for a talented Art Director that can thrive in a start-up environment where things are constantly changing and evolving. This is a full-time and fully on-site position in Downtown Chicago (River North).

Job Description:

We’re hiring a Senior Art Director to help lead the visual expression of the company and bring our creative vision to life. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Senior Creative Director, take direction with precision, and elevate every project through world-class design craft and visual thinking. This is not a button-pushing, keep-your-head-down production job. It’s a central creative role for someone who thrives under strong creative direction and contributes exceptional visual thinking to a brand with world-scale ambition.

Role Overview

As Senior Art Director, you will help bring our brand rollout to life — executing, refining, and elevating the creative vision of a company launching a new global standard for digital trust. You will work hand-in-hand with senior creative leadership to take direction, translate ideas with intention and accuracy, and ensure that every visual touchpoint feels premium, modern, and unmistakably us.

What You’ll Own:

  • Partner directly with the senior creative leadership to translate strategy, guidance, and vision into clear, high-quality design.
  • Support and collaborate with Graphic Designers, offering direction, feedback, and hands-on design contributions across all projects.
  • Uphold a creative culture grounded in strong taste, precision, and consistent execution.
  • Translate strategic brand positioning into campaigns, visuals, product narratives, and launch moments.
  • Help build design systems that scale across enterprise, consumer, government, and platform-facing channels.
  • Ensure all creative output reinforces the brand’s positioning: powerful, innovative, sovereign, and premium.
  • Develop design concepts for major launch initiatives, storytelling arcs, and key brand moments.
  • Create magazine-quality decks, brand books, and visual narratives that incorporate research, insights, and inspiration.
  • Present directly to senior creative leadership with clarity, conviction, and strategic insight.
  • Uphold strong creative standards while moving with the speed the company requires.
  • Deliver multiple creative routes for each brief — always offering elevated options beyond the ask.
  • Ensure version control, organization, and clarity across all creative workstreams.

Who You Are:

A high-taste, detail-driven art director who combines strong visual instincts with strategic awareness and fast, organized execution.

Experience

  • 7\+ years in art direction, visual design, or brand design roles.
  • Experience contributing to high-impact creative campaigns or global product launches.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates world-class design systems, typography, visuals, and presentation design.

Skills

  • Understands direction quickly and executes with intention, clarity, and the appropriate design process.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and presentation design (PowerPoint/Keynote).
  • Ability to translate technical ideas into compelling visual narratives.
  • Superb communication and leadership abilities.
