Senior Backend Engineer

We're partnering with a well-funded early-stage cybersecurity infrastructure startup that's building a cloud-native platform used by enterprise organisations operating in highly regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build highly scalable backend and distributed systems.
• Develop production software for high-volume data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Build cloud-native services running on Kubernetes.
• Design and improve distributed architectures, messaging systems, and backend infrastructure.
• Optimise system performance, reliability, and scalability at large scale.
• Own architectural decisions and deliver production-ready software with a high degree of autonomy.
• Collaborate closely with a small engineering team to solve complex technical challenges.

Key Requirements

• 4–8\+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with one or more systems languages (Go preferred, Rust, Java, or C/C\+\+ also considered).
• Experience building distributed systems and production backend services.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and deploying software to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Background working on high-throughput systems, data platforms, messaging, or streaming architectures.
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and distributed computing principles.
• Product-minded engineer who enjoys ownership, thrives in startup environments, and communicates effectively within a collaborative team.
