Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Business \& Workflow Discovery
- Lead stakeholder discovery sessions to understand current-state workflows, operational pain points, controls, and target outcomes.
- Analyze and document business processes, workflows, edge cases, and exception handling.
- Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Requirements \& Documentation
- Translate business needs into structured delivery artifacts, including:
Business requirements
Process flows
User stories
Acceptance criteria
Non-functional requirements
- Define clear problem statements, scope boundaries, assumptions, risks, and success metrics.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, business objectives, and delivered solutions.
Collaboration \& Delivery Support
- Partner closely with product owners, engineers, QA teams, and stakeholders to refine requirements and resolve ambiguities.
- Facilitate alignment between business and technology teams to support efficient delivery.
- Support backlog refinement, story slicing, and prioritization activities.
- Help unblock execution by clarifying functional and technical requirements.
Testing \& Validation
- Define test scenarios and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Coordinate validation activities to ensure delivered functionality aligns with business intent and operational expectations.
- Support auditability, approvals, controls, and data lineage requirements where applicable.
Communication \& Governance
- Communicate project status, decisions, risks, and open questions clearly and consistently.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships through transparency, professionalism, and trust.
- Use AI-enabled tools responsibly to accelerate documentation, analysis, summarization, and gap analysis while ensuring accuracy and data confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- 5\+ years of experience as a:
Business Analyst
Functional Analyst
Technical Business Analyst
or similar role within software delivery environments
- Strong expertise in business discovery and requirements gathering.
- Ability to translate conversations into structured, testable requirements efficiently.
- Comfortable participating in technical discussions involving:
APIs
Data flows
System integrations
Application behavior
- Strong understanding of workflows, operational controls, edge cases, and exception management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven stakeholder management and conflict-resolution abilities.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in operations, finance, accounting, or control-focused environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including:
User stories
Backlog management
Iteration planning
- Basic SQL knowledge and experience supporting reporting or analytics initiatives.
- Exposure to workflow-based or event-driven systems, including:
Messaging platforms
Orchestration tools
Audit trail requirements
- Experience working within less mature or evolving delivery environments.
